Platform Engineer

The Data Governance & Privacy Operations team is responsible for building, securing and maintaining data governance & privacy at Telia which supported by our data governance tool suite. We play a key part in building the enterprise data catalog for Telia Company.
As a Platform Engineer you will…
You will have a key role in the data governance team in supporting the technical vision, roadmap, and design for our data governance tool stack in collaborating with the product owner and engineers. You will collaborate with stakeholders and play an important part in building target capabilities for the data governance tool suite and scaling of the tool suite within the organization.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the Product Owner and Lead Engineer in achieving the vision and roadmap for the Data Governance tool suite, which includes the data catalog, data lineage, business glossary, and data quality. You will actively participate in solution design, technical development, and troubleshooting of the data catalog. Additionally, you will handle maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted system performance and usability. Furthermore, you will stay updated on the latest market trends and industry best practices to continuously refine and update the technical vision. You will work with a wide set of stakeholders including software engineers, product owners, delivery leads, solution architects, data engineers and data architects.

Who we’re looking for
You are someone self-driven who is passionate about data and engineering. You can express your vision clearly and have earlier experience in designing technical solutions. You are communicative and enjoy working in collaboration with multiple stakeholders to define needs and requirements.
You are a self-driven and motivated professional who understands and anticipates stakeholder needs, demonstrating this in your proposed solutions. You approach problems in a structured and collaborative manner, identifying both short- and long-term solutions. Your curiosity enables you to quickly acquire new knowledge and apply it effectively, while you actively seek and act on feedback to enhance solution quality.
With 3+ years of experience working with enterprise-level IT solutions, you have expert proficiency in Python and Kubernetes. You bring strong knowledge and experience in PySpark, Java, Airflow, Unix, and open-source solutions. Your background includes solution design and integrating various technologies such as REST APIs, Java, Python, and JSON. Experience with GitHub, Airflow, and AWS is considered a plus. Additionally, you have a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data modeling, data architecture, and data ingestion methods and practices. You possess professional proficiency in both spoken and written English.
(Monthly salary range for this position: 3 043 - 4 565 EUR before tax deduction. This range is applicable for candidates based in Lithuania).
