Senior consultant, Nord Pool Services

Nord Pool is looking to recruit a senior consultant to join Nord Pool Services team.

Nord Pool Services team is responsible for several business areas:

  • Nord Pool Consulting
  • Nord Pool Academy
  • Services to power exchanges in Europe (SPX business)
  • Services to Transmission System Operators
  • Other related services

Nord Pool Consulting is at the heart of new power market development in Europe and the rest of the world. Nord Pool Consulting is currently involved in a number of projects in different geographical regions providing support and services in a wide range of topics including electricity market design, development of regulations and rules, power exchange organization, capacity building and training on physical and financial electricity markets.

In order to strengthen our team, we are looking for someone with a strong wish to become an ambassador for the Nord Pool and European market model with an ambition to grow and share team’s unique competence in a wide span of topics. You will be part of Nord Pool’s multinational team  delivering exciting assignments where you will have the chance to influence electricity market developments worldwide.

Main Tasks

  • Act as expert advisor on wholesale electricity markets
  • Act as a project manager in various projects
  • Present electricity market topics for various audiences in projects, conferences, and trainings
  • Cooperate with other Nord Pool departments and external partners during project preparation and execution stages
  • Prepare project deliverables including but not limited to reports, presentation, market rules and training material
  • Manage relations with sponsors, partners and clients
  • Attend relevant international conferences with the aim to acquire new projects, maintain stakeholder relations and build new relationships
  • Prepare technical and financial proposals for existing customers or new tenders, negotiate commercials terms

Qualifications & experience

Experience

  • At least 7 years’ experience from power markets, including but not limited to operational experience, market design, market rules, regulatory issues.
  • Management (project management) experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the European Target Model design.
  • Good knowledge of power markets outside of power exchanges domain, such as TSOs’ markets, regulatory aspects of wholesale and retail electricity markets as well as knowledge of other markets designs outside of Europe shall be seen as beneficial.
  • Experience from report writing and making presentations 
  • Have degree in economics, business, engineering or equivalent.
