Data Stewardship team works on pan-Baltic level and is important part of Data Management initiatives at Luminor. We strive to improve, standardize and align data across all three Baltic states. Traveling in the Baltics is expected.


How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Develop and maintain Data Catalog activities, thus assuring that Data Glossary and Data Dictionary items are up to date, not duplicated, stitched to technical metadata and data ownership is assigned correctly etc.

  • Develop and maintain Data Quality activities, i.e., perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), initiate data quality assessments, data quality improvement projects, create DQ rules, run data quality monitoring, collaborate with other teams across Luminor to fix identified data discrepancies etc.

  • Develop Data Lineage activities, i.e. provide required input to the Data Lineage, verify data flows, use the Data Lineage to make RCA, cooperate with Information Technology (IT) units to assure that all technical metadata are up to date etc.

  • Be responsible for Data Domain, Data as Product or Data Solution / Application

  • Serve as first point of contact in case of any question related to your area of expertise coming both form Business or IT

  • Participate in IT and business projects, Value Streams, ensuring data requirements are clearly defined, data quality standards are upheld, and data governance principles are embedded throughout the project lifecycle

  • Support business area and Business Analyst in analyzing incoming data requirements

  • Implement Data Management related processes, standards and procedures


What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Educational background in Economics, Business Management, Finance, IT or any related field

  • Proven work experience as Data Steward, Business Analyst, Reporting Analyst, IT System Analyst or similar

  • At least 3 years’ professional experience in the area of data governance and data management

  • At least 1 year experience with banking or other finance industry, good knowledge of the Bank products, processes and IT systems

  • Very Good SQL knowledge, ability to work with large data sets to find quality issues, detect data structures etc.

  • Very good understanding of data warehousing and reporting concepts and ability to apply and use in practice data profiling techniques

  • Very good understanding of IT database structures/principles

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and Project management tools (e.g., Atlassian JIRA, Confluence)

  • Ability to be a “bridge” between IT and business

  • Problem solver mindset and attention to details

  • Detail-oriented person while having excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Initiative and high-level of responsibility

  • Good to advanced business knowledge with regulatory reporting experience across banking products, systems, processes, and financial data; Prior regulatory or financial reporting experience is a strong advantage

  • Experience in working with DWH, Tableau/PowerBI, Cloud Data Warehouse e.g. Kafka, Iceberg, BIAN, Snowflake/DataBrick, any ETL or Data Governance tool / solution will be considered as strong advantage

  • Data Management or Data Stewardship certification would be considered as an advantage e.g. DAMA

  • Knowledge of Sustainability (ESG - Environmental, social, and governance) regulatory principles will be considered as advantage

  • Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level
