Salary: 5500-6375 EUR/month gross (before tax) based on your skills and experience, but we are flexible to negotiate.  

Location: Vilnius, Lithuania (hybrid)

Schedule: 1 FTE (40 hours/week) 

12-month contract with a high possibility of extention.

What you'll be doing 

We are looking for a Chief Backup Engineer in AWS Cloud to join our dynamic team with one of the biggest players in finance in the country. You would be a part of Join Storage Engineering Team at our client company.

How you'll spend your day 

  • Designing robust, scalable database solutions that support the organizational needs in AWS.
  • Assessing and recommending database technologies and tools that could benefit the company.
  • Native AWS databases architecture, setting up replication, partitioning, and other advanced configurations to optimize performance and resilience.
  • Monitoring system performance and adjusting indexes, queries, and configurations to improve throughput and response times.
  • Ensuring that database access is securely controlled, and that data is protected against unauthorized access or breaches. This includes implementing encryption and auditing policies.
  • Build the AWS native backup environment with all capabilities, including the implementation, training team on day 2 operations with automation.
  • Analysis of AWS services and outline Backup options including pros, cons & considerations. Outline steps to migrate to the new Backup service, including testing, migration and restore tests.

You'll be successful if you have 

  • 7+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering.
  • Proven experience in AWS and AWS storage architecture.
  • Security and compliance knowledge
  • Experience in Terraform and DevOps (git, CI/CD, etc.).
  • Hands-on engineering experience in Database domain Commvault would be considered as an advantage.
