We are looking for an Aircraft Powerplant Engineer with expertise in commercial evaluation to join our Engineering team in Vilnius (LT), Tallinn (EE), or remotely within Europe.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for technical assessment, performance analysis, and financial evaluation of aircraft engines to support acquisitions, leasing, shop visits and maintenance decisions. This role requires a strong understanding of aircraft powerplants, engine maintenance programs, and cost modeling to optimize operational and commercial performance.
Main responsibilities
- Perform in-depth technical assessments of aircraft engines, including performance monitoring, trend analysis, and reliability tracking (life cycle analysis)
- Evaluate and review BSI reports
- Support engine maintenance planning, work scope preparations, and shop visit evaluations
- Assess engine health monitoring data and provide recommendations on operational improvements and cost reduction
- Evaluate lease agreements, maintenance reserves, and end-of-life strategies for engines
- Support asset valuation, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessment for engine purchases and leases
- Assist in negotiations with lessors, airlines, and MRO providers for engine procurement, lease returns, and contract renewals
- Provide insights on market trends, residual values, and cost implications of maintenance programs
Main Requirements
- Bachelorโs or Masterโs degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft powerplant engineering, with a focus on commercial evaluation
- Strong knowledge of engine types like CFM, Pratt & Whitney (everything else is considered as an advantage), maintenance procedures, and regulatory compliance (EASA, FAA)
- Experience in engine leasing, engine shop visit management, asset management, or airline/MRO commercial operations is a plus
- Experience in creating sensitivity analysis for time on wing (TOW) assumptions under various scenarios
- BSI license is considered as an advantage
- Experience with MS Office tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to travel for work projects
