You’ll be solving complex challenges and maintaining our own infrastructure with 60PB+ monthly data traffic. Here are its scale and maturity in numbers:

- 6PB+ Ceph storage
- 60PB+ monthly data traffic through our systems
- 300k+ service requests/sec processed
- 500k+ Kafka messages/sec streamed

As the Search Squad Lead, you will take on the critical function of delivering data to power the world's leading AI, SEO, and Advertisement companies.

Your key responsibilities will let you shape the future of our data delivery. You will have the autonomy to lead the Search squad, forming and molding the team as you see fit to achieve greatness. This role is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the growth of our people by mentoring and developing the next generation of scraping engineers within the company. Above all, you will be the guardian of our operational excellence, accountable for ensuring top-tier data quality, maintaining an exceptional developer experience, and guaranteeing the rock-solid operational stability for all the squad's services.

Your day-to-day:

  • Own sprint planning and manage a structured JIRA backlog, ensuring clear requirements and realistic ETAs.
  • Suggest high-impact ideas to move Key Results (KRs) and align squad objectives with company goals.
  • Prioritize work based on business value, monitor KPIs, and say "no" when necessary to prevent scope creep.
  • Foster a motivating team environment through mentorship, workload management, and continuous feedback.
  • Actively participate in technical discussions to resolve roadblocks and maintain system health.
  • Maintain Agile best practices while identifying ways to cut clutter and increase development speed.
  • Act as the primary technical bridge between your squad and business teams.

Your skills & experience:

  • Experience in software development and leading technical teams.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining long-term strategic focus.
  • Passion for team empowerment and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of web development fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript (JS), and REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of any back-end language: Python / Go / etc is a big plus
  • Experience with GIT, CI/CD pipelines, and software deployment processes.

Salary:

  • Gross salary: 4500 - 6000 EUR/month. Keep in mind that we are open to discussing a different salary based on your skills and experience.
