We are looking for a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to join our team in Lithuania. In this role, you will design and implement complex Warehouse Control Systems within SAP WM/EWM using advanced ABAP/OO techniques, act as a technical leader within the team, mentor junior developers, and help shape the system architecture and technical direction. You will work across all project phases – from design to post-implementation support – solving challenging technical problems and delivering scalable, high-performance, and reliable solutions in close collaboration with business and key stakeholders. The monthly pay range for this role is estimated to be €4500-6600 gross (final compensation will be determined based on your competencies and experience).
Tasks and Qualifications:
What will you do in this role?
- Lead the architecture and development of complex SAP EWM/MFS and WM solutions using ABAP/OO and ABAP/4, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Define technical concepts and drive complex change requests and strategic improvements across Dematic’s SAP landscape.
- Act as a subject matter expert for system performance and reliability, leading performance analysis, optimization, and advanced testing (integration, performance, UAT).
- Oversee and manage commissioning, RampUp, and advanced key user training programs on-site as well as provide support and guidance to project teams throughout the realization and integration phases.
- Translate complex business requirements into robust technical designs and develop clear architectural and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with project and technical leads to integrate software components into Dematic warehouse systems, and ensure architectural integrity and adherence to standards.
- Provide accurate effort estimations and ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-efficient delivery of solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within Dematic’s SAP namespace and add-ons.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level ABAP engineers, supporting their technical growth and career development.
What are we looking for?
- Educated to degree level (bachelor’s or higher) in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems or related technical field. SAP certifications are a plus.
- 5+ years of proven ABAP development experience, including senior / lead responsibilities on complex SAP projects (SAP EWM / WM preferred).
- Expert knowledge of ABAP OO / ABAP4 and SAP enhancement techniques (implicit / explicit Enhancements, BAdI, User-Exits, modifications).
- Deep understanding and ability to apply SAP specific technologies (tRFC, qRFC, bgRFC, ABAP WebServices, IDOC, BAPIs, OData).
- Extensive experience with integration technologies such as XML / JSON / SOAP / REST / JavaScript, and an understanding of enterprise integration patterns.
- Advanced ability to connect and architect solutions for sub-systems integration into the SAP landscape (e.g., RF devices, scales, external systems).
- Expertise in Version Control (e.g., ABAPGit), advanced IDE usage (e.g., SAP WebIDE, Eclipse).
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a collaborative, solution-driven approach to complex problems.
- Full working proficiency in English. German language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally for up to 20% to support projects.
- Bonus Points if you: Have knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, automated material handling processes, and supply chain logistics.
