Location: Vilnius, Lithuania (hybrid)

Schedule: 1 FTE (40 hours/week) 

This is a contract till the end of 2025 with a high possibility of extension.

What you'll be doing 

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team with one of the biggest players in finance in the country. You will be joining the Transaction Analysis & Models team at our client company.

How you'll spend your day 

  • Build and manage data integration processes, ETL workflows, and data pipelines to handle large data streams. 
  • Create data models and structured data solutions to maintain high standards of data quality, consistency, and reliability. 
  • Ensure optimal performance of data pipelines for streamlined data retrieval and processing. 
  • Integrate raw information from various sources, demonstrating your ability to work with diverse data sets. 
  • Work closely with other data professionals to form robust data governance, validation, and development practices. 
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in data engineering to ensure maximum efficiency and software quality. 
  • Engage actively in a self-organizing Scrum team, exhibiting your agile mindset. 
  • Recognize the importance of comprehensive documentation and contribute when necessary to foster knowledge sharing within the team.

You'll be successful if you have 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or a similar role. 
  • You are familiar with the Big Data Ecosystem, including Cloud technologies. 
  • Expert-level Python skills, along with intermediate proficiency in PySpark, Hadoop, Hive, Airflow, and SQL. Experience with AWS technologies will be an added advantage. 
  • Hands-on experience in optimizing the performance of Spark processes. 
  • You display keen analytical thinking and attention to detail. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills facilitate smooth collaboration with squad members and stakeholders. 
  • You possess strong business acumen, understanding how technical improvements contribute to business value and drive organisational success. 
  • You carry an agile mindset, open to adjustments based on new requirements, information, or evolving team needs. 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM-related field or equivalent.
