For our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer (Desktop) to design and build desktop test automation solutions for Windows-based applications. This role is hands-on and engineering-focused, ideal for someone who enjoys creating automation frameworks and solutions, not just executing existing test scripts. This position is strictly focused on desktop automation. Candidates with a purely web automation background will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain desktop test automation frameworks using C#
  • Build scalable and maintainable automation solutions for Windows on‑prem / desktop applications
  • Apply Page Object / Object Model principles in automation design
  • Collaborate with QA, development, and product teams to ensure high-quality test coverage
  • Analyze application behavior and define automation strategies accordingly
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of automation practices and tooling

Must-Have Requirements

  • Strong C# development experience
  • Proven background in test automation engineering
  • Hands-on experience designing automation frameworks (not only running tests)
  • Experience automating Windows desktop / on‑prem applications
  • Solid understanding and practical use of Page Object / Object Model
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • Senior or strong upper mid-level experience (no junior profiles)

Important: This is a desktop automation role only. Candidates focused exclusively on web automation will not be suitable.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with FlaUI
  • German language skills (advantage)
