Job Overview

We are looking for an R&D Scientist to join our Chemistry Research & Development team and contribute to the development of next-generation chromatography materials and technologies.

In this role, you will spend most of your time in the laboratory designing, executing, and analyzing experiments related to HPLC/UHPLC column technologies, silica-based materials, and chromatography performance. You will investigate technical challenges, evaluate new concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions used by laboratories around the world.

This is an excellent opportunity for a scientist who enjoys hands-on experimental work, takes ownership of results, and is motivated by solving complex scientific problems through practical laboratory research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments related to chromatography materials and column technologies

  • Evaluate HPLC/UHPLC column performance and investigate opportunities for product improvement

  • Develop and characterize silica-based materials and surface modification approaches

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify root causes through systematic experimentation

  • Interpret experimental data and translate findings into actionable recommendations

  • Maintain accurate experimental records and scientific documentation using electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN)

  • Present findings and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders

  • Collaborate with international R&D teams on development projects and scientific initiatives

  • Contribute to innovation activities, continuous improvement projects, and new technology development

  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and environmental requirements

Experience and Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline

or

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry or research experience

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong hands-on laboratory skills and confidence working with chemical materials and laboratory instrumentation

  • Understanding of safe handling practices for hazardous chemicals and laboratory safety requirements

  • Ability to independently plan, execute, and analyze experiments

  • Experience working with analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment

  • Strong scientific problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities

  • Ability to organize, document, and communicate experimental work clearly

  • Experience with technical writing, laboratory documentation, and data analysis

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in international teams

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities

  • High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and commitment to scientific quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with particle technologies or particle surface modification

  • Experience working with chromatography products or separation science applications

  • Basic programming or data analysis skills

  • Understanding of intellectual property processes and patent generation

Compensation

The monthly salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €2 183,33–€3 270,83.
