Your Mission 

We are looking for a Money Laundering Reporting Officer to join our fast-growing team at Nuvei Liquidity, crypto center of excellence within the Nuvei Group. Nuvei Liquidity is one of only a handful of companies in Lithuania to have successfully obtained both a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) licence under MiCA and a Payment Institution licence for the transfer of Electronic Money Tokens (EMTs). This positions us at the forefront of regulated digital asset services in the EU.

In this role, you will take ownership of AML/CTF compliance across the organisation - overseeing suspicious activity identification and reporting, managing the company's AML/CTF policies and procedures, acting as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, and ensuring our compliance controls remain effective in a fast-moving, heavily regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining AML/CTF policies, procedures, and controls tailored to virtual asset activities;
• Ensuring proper implementation of the policies and procedures across the Company by organizing and conducting training sessions for employees responsible for the implementation, conducting regular reviews of client files to assess compliance with established standards;
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining international financial sanctions and restrictive measures framework across the Company, consulting of the employees as well as for communicating with FCIS in case of Sanctions;
• Monitoring the virtual assets industry landscape to identify emerging risks and updating the compliance program accordingly;
• Overseeing the monitoring of virtual asset transactions and account activity to detect suspicious patterns and potential money laundering or terrorist financing activities;
• Leading investigations into suspicious activities, maintaining records, and preparing timely and accurate Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as required by regulatory authorities;
• Analyzing the collected information, data, and documents and making the decision in cases where a client is subject to EDD;
• Collaborating with internal or external audit to evaluate the effectiveness of AML/CTF controls and recommend improvements;
• Providing information to the Management Board on a quarterly and annual basis related to changes in ML/TF risks, regulatory and procedural changes (if any), reporting to FIU, other relevant information;
• Preparation of annual enterprise-wide ML/TF risk assessment;
• Participating in external audits and regulatory examinations, ensuring a smooth and compliant process;
• Undertake any other duties as determined by the direct manager or the higher management line/body of the Company.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 5+ years of experience in AML compliance and 3+ years of experience spent in a MLRO position in a Lithuanian financial services institution/obliged entity supervised by the Bank of Lithuania/FIU.
• Preferably understanding of virtual assets and their underlying technologies, such as blockchain.
• Tech-savvy & being able to use multiple different internal/external systems & databases to collect & assess information.
• Knowledge of global AML/CTF regulations, guidelines, and best practices related to virtual assets.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to identify patterns and trends.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders, regulators, and internal teams (working language is English).
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results within strict deadlines.
• Ability to engage various stakeholders & align them with company’s compliance culture.
• Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) are a plus.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is EUR 35,000 - EUR 50,000 (gross). This range represents the expected starting salary for candidates hired into this role in the specified location. If the position is filled in a different location, a different salary range may apply due to objective factors such as local labor market conditions and cost of living.

This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Nuvei and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
